Start of construction on Tilt Renewables' Waipipi Wind Farm

In early November 2019 Tilt Renewables marked the commencement of construction at Waipipi Wind Farm in Taranaki (formerly known as Waverley Wind Farm). ChanceryGreen is thrilled to have assisted Tilt Renewables to consent the wind farm. It will consist of 31 turbines with a blade tip height of 160m (the largest ever installed in New Zealand) and have a capacity of 133MW – enough to produce clean energy for approximately 70,000 homes and save about 350,000 tonnes of carbon emissions. It will be Tilt Renewable’s largest asset in New Zealand. Construction will take up to two years and will employ approximately 150 people.

ChanceryGreen attended the sod-turning ceremony on 1 November, joining Tilt Renewables employees and directors, Ngā Rauru and Ngāti Ruanui representatives, landowners, other project partners, contractors, community members and leaders, and investors (photo pictured).
